The first question that usually comes to mind when discussing immigration is just how many immigrants are living in the United States? The simple answer is 38,517,234, or 12.5% of the total population.
The next question that you may think is where do they come from? Mexico, right? No, while Mexico is the country represented the most in the immigrant population, not all immigrants are from Mexico, or Hispanic countries for that matter. Not even half of all immigrants are Hispanic, only 46.9% of the 38.5 million immigrants are Hispanic. Bet you never would have guessed that.

Usually the next question when discussing immigration is how many illegal immigrants are in the United States? Well, the first thing that we like to point out is that we prefer to call them "unauthorized immigrants", it's just more polite and politically correct.
